The Europeans have a long and honourable tradition of hating each other. Take a look at European history some time - it's like the Warring States period of Chinese history, but lasting two thousand years rather than just a few hundred. It was the competition between the European nations which made European imperialism so aggressive and devastating in the 19th century and led to two world wars in the 20th century. World Wars I and II were nothing more than European civil wars amplified onto a global scale by European imperialism.
