I think that the way the Jews were treated was unfair.
The origins of anti-Semitism lie in Christianity ----- the Christians believed that the Jews murdered Jesus, who had been sent by God
to save the world (ironically, Jesus himself was Jewish).In the Middle Ages, this developed into a systematic ideology of anti-Semitism, and the effect of the Black Death (which killed almost half the entire population of Europe ) led to Jews being blamed for spreading disease and poisoning wells. This was the beginning of the systematic
pogroms and mass killings of Jews in Europe, which culminated
in the Nazi Holocaust.
